    陈晓东教授提出了生命质量LQ工程概念、人类动态营养学概念 和生物学启示下的化学工程概念。创造了反应工程REA干燥模型与参数获取方法和陈氏自热颗粒反应动力学参数测量方法。 发明并商业化了NERDT系列体外仿生消化系统(人内形机器人),已在食品、营养、益生菌产品以及口服药递送等研发和相关产业做出贡献。开展计算流体、传热、传质、食品工程、颗粒技术和干燥技术的基础工作并与企业结合密切。曾获得很多专业认可,如2023年国际干燥杂志Drying Technology原创性贡献奖;2021年深圳零一学院卓越大导师 (1/5);2017年法国Agrocampus Quest大学荣誉博士(其170+年校史上第一位); 2017年获得苏州大学《我最喜爱的老师》;2017年获新竹清华大学未来力量Next Power讲座教授称号;国际干燥研究最高奖Arun Mujumdar奖章;2015年获得国际食品工程协会IAEF终生成就奖(国际食品工程领域最高荣誉)等。至2025年12月,已发表780+SCI学术论文、6本著作,23个书籍章节和完成了50+工业咨询项目综合报告。获得了30+专利。在欧,亚,大洋洲国际会议发表了120+大会/主题/邀请报告。连续多年Elsevier化工技术高被引作者,国际Scholar GPS顶尖0.05%科学家(Lifetime)。

    主要研究方向为生命质量LQ(新概念、内涵与驱动力分析等)、动态营养学(动力学概念等),仿生化工(包括柔弹性反应器工程、体外仿生消化道“内形”机器人工程等),食品与生物化工(大规模生产以及生产中的各种技术问题,基础研究和小规模产品研发等),干燥技术(喷雾干燥技术:从实验室到大产业规模; 冷冻和冷冻干燥过程等),颗粒技术(颗粒生产与质量分析), 食品医药等生产过程中的设备内部表面的结垢与清洗,益生菌产品的生产与消化道内的现象,自点燃现象及各种过程的数学模拟与分析等。

     

    近期完成的项目包括:基于仿生化学工程思维探索具有大肠功能特征的柔性管式反应器SETR的运作;果蔬干燥减损关键技术与装备研发;体外软弹性大鼠胃仿生消化系统的优化;均匀粒径液滴发生器以及喷雾干燥设备开发;高浓度液体操控以及喷雾/流化干燥产生高质量颗粒产品技术的开发;婴幼儿仿生消化设备的研发;仿生成人消化道的全程模拟:口腔、食管、胃肠道、幽门、结肠; 冷冻(液滴冷冻)和冷冻浓缩(葡萄酒等)过程探索;微质构仪的开发与应用;预消化对几种不易消化吸收的食品、组分的作用研究;仿生粪便的制造;等等。
